Writing

One Pen Name or Two?

Over the years, I’ve always believed that writers had to have a niche in order to be successful. To make money you have to niche down and focus on one thing.

I’ve decided to do just that as Dani Gibbings McGaw.

However, I have a pen name that I write completely different content under (some of you may know that content is adult oriented) and I don’t want to give that up.

So, I’m trying to figure out a way that I can give both ventures my attention.

In the past I’ve tried “bulk writing” - writing a certain type of content for a whole day. And it may have been working.

The problem is, I don’t have full days to write anymore. I have a job so writing time is limited.

Does that mean I need to limit what I write? Do I have to give up one name over the other in order to produce enough content to make money so that someday I can quit my EDJ?

I don’t know.

Some may ask, “Why not just pick one name/niche?”

Well, the truth is, I’ve tried that and I get bored. I can’t settle into one thing. If I try, I get antsy and immediately want to write something else.

ADHD is like that. Variety good, lack of variety bad.

So, what do I do?

I’d love to hear from other ADHD writers who have found a way to manage it all!
