Studies have shown time and time again that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It gives your metabolism a boost and it helps your brain work. You have more energy throughout the day and you can be more productive at work or at school.
Time is one of the biggest problems though. So what can you do?
Check out these 7 tips to eating a healthier breakfast:
1. Get as much done the night before as possible. Lay out clothes, pack lunches, and have all the stuff you need for the day ready to go. That will give you more time in the morning.
2. Get up 15 minutes earlier than you usually do. 15 minutes won’t make a big difference in your sleep and you will feel less rushed.
3. Make it a rule that televisions and computers do not get turned on in the morning.
4. Plan for a healthy breakfast when you shop for groceries. It’s easier to eat something in the morning if you have food on hand!
5. Use the microwave. It is amazing how many healthy breakfast meals can be made quickly with the microwave.
6. Have foods that can be eaten on the go ready. If you are really rushed you can grab and go.
7. Don’t be afraid to eat un-breafast-y things in the morning. Leftover pizza is great for breakfast. Take leftovers from last night’s dinner and put it in a wrap and heat. Be creative.
