Hangover of the Heart

An unusual girl
with a virtue so rare,
a valued innocence
she once cherished with care.
A stranger in the night
who had an outside charm,
too late she realized
his intent with alarm.
Her “Please, stop!” meant little
to the stranger that night.
He took what he wanted
though her eyes filled with fright.
He left her in tears,
an emotional mess,
a hangover of the heart
and tears that bled distress.
